After watching the Golden Globes this weekend, we already knew that Emma Stone was pretty great when it comes to off-the-cuff responses.

But even when she has more time to prepare, her reactions are still pretty priceless. Presumably, given all the awards attention she’s received so far, the actress knew it was likely she would get an Oscar nomination for her work inBirdman and had plenty of time to polish up a response. But instead of some canned response, what we got from the actress was pretty funky, cute, and, frankly, very Emma. Stone released a statement saying:

Well this is surreal. I am completely knocked out. Thank you to the Academy for this incredible honor. I am very proud and lucky to be part of Birdman and I can’t believe it came to this. I am so f––ing excited. Are you allowed to say ‘f––’ when making a statement for the Oscars? I’m just really f––ing excited.

That statement came in written form, alas, because the actress is on vocal rest in preparation for her performance tonight in Broadway’s Cabaret. So we’ll just have to imagine the adorable facial expressions that went along with all those F-bombs.
